Mini Meet West 2017 will be celebrating a blend of the Classic Mini culture and all things those with a new MINI enjoy. This will truly be a gathering that blends all aspects of the Mini and MINI phenomena, including a Rally, an Auto Cross, and a Car Show that even caters to the next generation of Mini enthusiasts with a hands-on build your own Mini they can proudly display. With an atmosphere of friendship and camaraderie, Mini owners and enthusiasts will come together to celebrate the unique aspects of this iconic car. From the beautifully restored, show room perfect stock Minis, to the outlandish thematic and modified track cars, Minis are the star of the show!

I usually do some pre trip inspection on the Mini and this time was no different. I would rather find any issues before I hit the road and deal with them.

After cleaning and going over the Mini for the trip, Alan M and I pulled the front end off to play with the clutch slave as I was getting some slippage. We found that the clutch slave was always pushing a bit on the clutch lever, so we remedied that by adjusting the throw on the Wilwood master.  No more slippage!   It must have happened when I changed out the slave last year in the hotel parking lot in Bend Oregon. The new slave had slightly different mounting ears than the old one.

Then a quick trip to Richard's garage to get it up on the hoist for an oil change, and check out everything underneath.

We found a split CV boot, one that we put on last year with the new CV joint. Boy, they don't make them like they used to.  So while it was on the hoist Richard put on a new one, which I had in my spare parts that I carry.
Everything else checked out, so mechanically we should be ready for the trip..
